I’m used to taking leaps of faith. I feel like my life is peppered with these defining moments where I’ve had the choice between either taking a risk in order to hopefully reap a big reward or playing it safe and being miserable. And that’s one fun fact about me – I’d always rather take a risk than stagnate and be unhappy.

Coming back to Dubai was a risk for me and yet something told me that I just had to return. I wasn’t sure if it would end up being a permanent move, but the voice within kept telling me this was what I needed to do.

If I’ve learnt one thing over the last 12 months, that is to trust my intuition. I’ve also learnt to distinguish between an ‘intuition’ that stems from insecurity and a real intuition. Now that I know the difference, I listen to these little nudges I get here and there. So I boarded an Emirates flight to Dubai and trusted that it would all work out for the best.

If you’re trying your best, planting seeds here and there, taking care of yourself, and steadily working towards something, you should trust that it will all come together at some point.

Although things are still uncertain, I keep getting some form of good news. When I first arrived, I managed to land a gig freelancing for ShortList Dubai, which was a fantastic experience. I’ve had a steady stream of work ever since I got here and there are a couple of big things in the works. And just this morning I got another great piece of news that made me smile no end.

Nothing is set in concrete for me, but regardless of what happens over the coming months, I’ll always know that I made the right decision to come back here. I’ve even started work on my novel, which I’m incredibly excited about.

The point to this ramble is that sometimes you just *have* to have faith. I’m not talking blind faith here; you cannot just sit back and hope great things will happen to you simply because you deserve it. What I mean is that if you’re trying your best, planting seeds here and there, taking care of yourself, and steadily working towards something, you should trust that it will all come together at some point.

I walk around with the belief that something incredible is about to happen. It may or may not be the case, but trust me – feeling this way is better than believing that things won’t work out the way you want them to.

Trust, my friends. Life can be a bitch, but she can also be incredibly kind.
