Photography

Photography has been a passion of mine since I was a child...

I vividly remember my parents buying me a camera for my 8th birthday and being utterly obsessed with it – so much so, my mum would exclaim “Oh look, it’s the new David Bailey!” at regular intervals. I certainly didn’t know who David Bailey was at the time, but the memory stuck with me.

Now, armed with a full-frame DSLR, I like to combine my features writing with original photography wherever possible (particularly travel), and I always try to pitch images along with my story ideas.

Featured project – Street Child of Nepal

During my four-month volunteering stint with the INGO Street Child of Nepal in 2017, I put together a collection of images that was used in the charity's promotional/fundraising materials.

The work entailed field trips to schools that were rebuilt in remote areas of Nuwakot in response to the 2015 earthquake, and to the marginalised Musahar communities in the province of Janakpur.

I have a keen interest in pursuing this kind of work again in the near future.
